Don't Starve Together is no longer a survival game, so why stick with the survival mechanics at this point. Why not just make it an adventure game with much more bosses, areas, dungeons & even puzzles.
The current state of the game doesn't make sense, really.
Survival aspect keeps on clashing with the adventure/fighting side of the game, that it's hard for it to proceed and move on further. That some item may make the game "easy-mode" etc.
And to top it all up, these forced survival elements butcher all of the replayability.
