DONT tolerate stuff in stream you WOULDNT in reality ! ditch losers in your chat
Dealing with streaming nerves is something that every streamer goes through, regardless of their status of time streaming. There are many things you can do to ease this and go from "I hate streaming" to "I'm excited to see what today's stream will bring".
Find the right viewers 00:00
Avoid stat based objectives 01:09
Use clips and VODs to boost your confidence and mood 02:05
Feeling like giving up? 03:25
Competition is healthy 04:35
How to build a community the right way - ditch losers in your chat! Evaluate each viewer the same, and even if they are your only viewer that doesn't give them the right to be inappropriate or rude and if you think they are not a good fit for the community you're trying to build then get rid of them - you don't have to please all viewers!
In fact this is an impossible challenge and trying to achieve it will only grind you down. Good advice and help for new streamers is also how to set streaming goals - which can be non-stat based and this is how to be more confident on stream. Dont be nervous on stream, use some time before you go live to review some of your favourite clips (of you or another streamer) and remind yourself this is why it's fun! Anything could happen, in any stream! DONT tolerate stuff in stream you WOULDNT in reality - it wont help grow your channel!
This clips is from one of my recent Just Chatting streams on Twitch, and this is a permanent part of the weekly schedule, happening every Wednesday evening from 6pm UK time. We talk about serious issues around mental health, streaming and help with tech setup - we encourage and help people find support where possible.
Dont be afraid to ban people - just because you have a single or a few viewers never be afraid to be selective and build your community the right way - to show the values you value and not just allow anyone in who is disrespectful, lose the " I have to appease everybody " mindset.
