Doom 1 & Doom 2 PS1 PSX Alpha "0.05" Build Prototype (March 14th, 1995) / Full Playthrough
This is a full playthrough of a "Doom" prototype (alpha version 0.05) for the PlayStation 1, developed by Williams Entertainment and meant to be published by Sony Computer Entertainment America. The date on the Hidden Places article dates the disc it came from as being July 14th, 1995, but the content is much earlier than that, going back to March 14th, 1995.

Post-editing, I realized that Map 5's music track at 28:55 is incomplete on the alpha, at least how it happens on my real hardware, which is a launch model (SCPH-1001) that's prone to audio skipping issues. That tracks stops permanently after about 20 seconds on multiple tries, even after I finished editing. Maps 25, 31, 32 and 33 never had music in the alpha to begin with.
Also, I mentioned at 59:10 how Map 9 (Deimos Anomaly) didn't work for me, but it does work when the game plays by itself in "Demo Mode" where you don't touch anything at the start screen. Someone did a video showing Map 9 in this mode:

Based on my findings, the content in this alpha is circa December 1994 (at the earliest) to March 1995 (at the latest). These are the things I've discovered examining its disc image files:
🟢 Version number is alpha 0.05, which is very early for any type of game. If my memory serves me right, a PS1 version of Doom was announced right when the PS1 came out in Japan in December 1994.
🟢 Copyright says 1994 just like the Atari Jaguar version, the basis for 32-bit era Doom console ports. The Jaguar version was finished in November 1994, and the PS1 console was released a month later in December. Development for such an early 0.05 alpha of the game likely started here, and it makes reference to "Sony Computer Entertainment America" as being the publisher.
🟢 In my playthrough, I missed a couple of minor secrets, yet I got all of the alpha exclusive secrets. The alpha level design of the "Knee Deep In The Dead" maps have notable design diversions from both the Atari Jaguar port. Particularly, a bunch of new secret areas were added, and these secret areas were then removed from the final PS1 version. See the three timestamps 19:42 22:27 32:56
🟢 Windows Explorer indicates that PSXDOOM.EXE was copied on July 13th, 1995, but when I examined that file in a hex editor, the contents in the file show dates from the copyright year of 1994 up to March 1995. Hex copied below:

🟢 None of the files make a single reference the "The Ultimate Doom" or any new maps from that chapter, which released for PC on April 30th, 1995. This alpha simply references the map folder as "DOOM1MAP", and everything in PSXDOOM.EXE references all map names of PC Doom 1 and PC Doom 2.
🔴 Sadly, despite "Warrens" being accidentally labeled by the game at 1:04:40 in this video, this level is not contained in this alpha disc, and it was never even in the final PS1 version. Either, the map was too ambitious, or Williams Entertainment ran out of time.
🔴 Unfortunately, despite having planned all PC levels of Doom 1 and Doom 2, PS1 Doom never planned the "Wolfenstein" or "Grosse" levels, since they're not named at all in PSXDOOM.EXE.
