(Doom 2 Custom Map) Gusty Galaxy
This is footage from a very rough-around-the-edges Doom 2, Super Mario Galaxy-inspired map I'm working on that incorporates several ZDoom-specific features. Some of those features seen in this video include:
- Sloped sectors
- Deep water
- Colored sectors
- Particle effects
- Spawning monsters via triggers
- 3d bridges
- Scrolling textures in multiple directions
I'm attempting to base this map around large outdoor environments with creative obstacles and areas that are fun to play around in and explore. I don't plan on throwing in too many enemies, though that may change as I get further into the design process. I just figured I'd throw up something to show you guys what I've been working on the past several days and to see what you all think so far of it.
As I learn more about ZDoom's mapping features, I will try and create future tutorials that shows how to do these things and more. I would also like to personally thank YouTube user JaundiceJaun for his own tutorials which helped me greatly.
