We recorded some Doom 2 for our first Let's Play of 2020, and the framerate was absolutely abysmal for me. I kept adjusting setting, and I could not figure out why it was so damned bad. Well, it turns out that FRAPS was the problem. I have never had this problem before. I didn;'t have it aon aMD FX 8350. I didn't have it on an old Phenom before that. I definitely should not be having it now. I just upgraded. Here's the specs on my current PC:

AMD Ryzen 2700
32 gig of DDR4 RAM
Nvigia Geforce GTX 1660TI

YEah. I should not be having this problem, so I used OBS to record some gameplay in the Doomsday Engine for testing purposes. It recorded just fine, and it stayed at a smooth 60 FPS the entire time. FRAPS was the problem, and I will need to use a different screen recorder in the future.
