1How does the reboot of DOOM hold up? And actually, how do modern FPSs play?
After streaming DOOM³ ( • DOOM³ (original edition) ) and DOOM³: Resurrection of Evil ( • DOOM³: Resurrection of Evil (Original... ) earlier this year, I was left wanting a tad more from my DOOMing. And those were the most modern FPSs I'd played up until this point, so playing something actually modern is a whole new kettle of fish for me.
The first impressions were pretty good, I have to admit. Combat feels impactful and satisfying. I thought the glory kills would get tiresome, but (spoiler alert) they don't.
We're starting out in Ultra-Violence, because that usually ends well for me... ( • Stickney Installation )
