The music for this game was written with General MIDI in mind. The MT-32 is not a General MIDI device (it predates the standard by a few years) so it doesn't sound quite right.

There is, however, software that makes the MT-32 more-or-less General MIDI compliant, and DOOM sounds a lot better when it's used. I wanted to show off how it sounds without patching the MT-32, so I didn't do that.

if anyone wants me to upload the GM-patched MT-32 version, let me know!
