DOOM for Sega Saturn fixed by fans, now is playable! - Knee-Deep in the Dead gameplay - RetroArch
• Doom Saturn version gameplay emulated with...

Gameplay of the maps corresponding to the Knee-Deep in the Dead episode of Doom version for Sega Saturn, played in RetorArch with the core Beetle Saturn (Mednafen emulator, the best of the console). I can't play it on the real hardware because I don't have a Saturn, however, Mednafen seems to me to be an accurate enough emulator to be able to test the improvements included in this patch.
Similar to what we are seeing with other crappy versions of Doom for consoles of the time, fans are fixing this Doom for Sega's 32-bit console, which is considered one of the worst versions for 90's consoles of id Software's legendary game, mainly because of the bad performance it had, which made it almost unplayable at times. Thanks to this patch, it certainly plays much better now.
Above you have a link to the video I already had testing the game as is, and the differences are noticeable, and not only that the game runs at more fps, but it is also less dark and the sound works better. It's still not perfect, and especially in Ulltra-violence because of the amount of enemies still suffers, but the fact is that now you can play without problems.
Also, I don't know if it's just me, but I would say that the game controls better, at least it's not as painful to play as it is usual in console versions of that time in which we control the character with the directional pad.
You will notice a small cut of the music in some occasions, they are parts removed by copyright (I think it's confusion of YouTube detection).
