Doom is a first-person shooter video game developed and published by id Software. The first installment in the Doom franchise, it was first released for MS-DOS on December 10, 1993, eventually receiving releases on several other plaforms later on. In Doom, players assume the role of a space marine, popularly known as "Doomguy", fighting his way through hordes of invading demons from Hell.
