Doom 2 gets harder a lot quicker than Doom 1 did. This map isn’t too difficult but it does introduce one of the most evil new demons, the heavy weapons guy or chaingunner. You need to either keep your distance or attack them fast (preferably with your own chaingun to stunlock them), because they will shred you to bits in seconds when they take aim at you. It is however very useful to bait them into infighting, because they will kill other enemies just as quickly.
This map has quite a few chaingunners, but as long as you stay away from them you can kill them easily. They also give you more than enough shotgun ammo here, so doing a pistol start run is not difficult at all.
