Playthrough of this lousy version. The 32X version is often referred to as the worst console port of Doom, and there are a lot of bad things about it. The main one is the terrible music, which sounds awful. It could have been so much better...

This version also has only 17 levels, one of which is hidden and can be accessed via a secret exit in level 3 (check the end of this video to see it). The usual console port cutbacks apply here, such as enemies always facing you (so no monster in-fighting) and simplified levels.

32X Doom was rushed to get it out for Christmas '94, which was when the 32X was available. If they didn't have to rush it it most likely would have been a much better game. Strangely there are prototypes available which have build dates from after when the final game was released, so some fans have a theory SEGA/ID wanted to make an updated re-release, but this never happened.

This is also the Japanese version of the game, not that you can tell since all of the in-game text is still in English. I also apologize for the horrible buzzing noise in this video -this is the only Super 32X game I have which seems to have this problem.

A note about the BFG -it is in this version, but you can only access it via cheat codes, which I didn't use for this playthrough. And then when I tried said cheat codes later I couldn't get them to work anyway.

Thanks to Fonts2U for the font used on the level 17 title:
