I've seen a decent amount of remakes of E1M8 and E2M8, but never seen one for E3M8. So I thought about remaking it. It shouldn't be that hard.
I'm proud of what I could do and it was kind of challenging to create the arena since in the original game, you were on top of the ledges, but due to SnapMap limitation, you're not. So the arena isn't completely accurate to the original game, but it should still give a sense of familiarity to it. That was probably the toughest part about this remake.
I added some more stuff to the gameplay like more enemies to keep the level feel more like an actual level rather than just a boss fight which I always feel E3M8 feels more like a boss fight instead of an actual level. Not only that, just to make the experience better.
Since there's no Spider Mastermind in SnapMap, I used the Cyber-Mancubus as a replacement. I beefed him up with the health and damage, so be careful of him!
It is pretty awesome that SnapMap now has the final level of the three episodes from the original Doom.
