A comparison video of MAP19 (Closer to Hell) from the Perdition's Gate megawad. I should've done a video like this one with my Hell's Gymnasium remake.

I wanted to remake this map because it's a very fun map to play despite of not being my favorite one from the megawad. However, I am a sucker for a map that's all about keeping you on your toes and that's what MAP19 is all about pretty much. Also, I thought this map wouldn't be too challenging to remake with the hell props because I wanted to make a map that would primarily be dominated by hell props.

The hardest part was the room with the Chaingunners/Pain Elemental. I couldn't recreate it to its original format, so you will notice that in the comparison video. It just looked so awkward during the early stages of building the map, so I decided to change that completely.


Obviously, it's not gonna play exactly the same like the classic variant due to Doom 2016's mechanics and because of the monster limit of Snapmap, but I still managed to keep that sense of danger is around you like the original.

I hope you like the map if you played it and Perdition's Gate is pretty good too if you're interested.
