DOOM The Dark Ages is a MESS!
0This is Nightmare difficulty at 120% game speed. I think this video sums up my entire feelings on this game at the moment... The incredibly basic gameplay that doesn't feel rewarding to get better at. The bug-ridden mess of a game, I had several soft locks in my first play through. Doors failing to open, switches refusing to be thrown, random visual garbage just appearing on the Hud, picking up an item only to have it still appear on the map, and more that I'm too exasperated to recall... I mean I get that 2016 was pretty janky, and Eternal crashes if you breath on it the wrong way but at least they work when you are playing them. I just picked up the shield rune and you see me parry countless attacks and the thing fails to trigger once. This all happened after I'd literally been soul searching and wondering why I was even still playing the game to begin with. It is a beautiful game and a quality product, but it is a massive step down from the previous two games in every way outside of graphics and physics for me personally.
