0http://www.doomwadstation.net/main/aliens.html ...And now, Boys and Girls, Ladies and Gents and all at the ships at sea, It's time to travel back in time again to 1994, This is when Doom II released but many were talking about something else, The VERY first Doom TC by Justin Fisher, Aliens TC which placed on Doomworld's top 100 wads at Number 2 out of 10 for 1994, This is old old territory, A time when Total Conversions were unheard of, This TC led many game companies to offer employment to Justin Fisher but he turned them down and sealed his record as a legend in Doom wad making.
Where do I start? This video was done with a modern sourceport so what you see may be different then what you'd see in 1994, The mod features 11 levels spread through Doom's Episode 2 and using 3 levels from Episode 3 for it's final battle, The Atmosphere BAR NONE, It feels just as moody and uneasy as Aliens Vs Duke for Duke Nukem 3D, Most enemies were replaced by Alien monsters such as the typical Xenomorphs, Face huggers and more, Even the Queen Alien is the final boss, A mix of weapons that you remember from the film series is also here.
There are some cracks that do show this TC's age and may affect how you judge the wad:The mapping is...Not good, There are some areas that look very clunky, The first level, Landing Pods has no enemies in it's original release, The special Doom II revision corrects this and ammo runs out much too fast towards the end but this is a piece of Doom history that remains as infamous as it is remembered.
