0Was there.. Any doubt I wouldn't do this mod? I have known of this mod since it first got attention at the 2011 Cacoawards and I have been enjoying it ever since, Its most recent version is V2.1 Gold Edition, But going back in time to V20 is an interesting thing, This was "Vanilla Brutal Doom" Before the mod had stuff like the Unmaker, The level enhancers, and other additions.
Brutal Doom is an enhancement mod that increases the violence, gore, and brutality (obviously) of Doom, Doom 2, Final Doom, and any wad you use, The mod also adds fatalities, Much more dangerous enemies, New weapons, and features that Doom did not support such as sliding, rolling, "waving" and using offensive taunts.
What makes Brutal Doom so epic is also what makes it challenging, Forget about trying to move normally like you always do, You have to be tactical or cautious to avoid death as monsters can use new attacks or attempt to corral you, In addition you may also cause slow fatal injuries to monsters and either take them down for health bonuses or let them die.
As my Computer does not have OpenGL the levels and monsters and blood look mirrored, Aside from that I enjoy Brutal Doom because the author always seems to make it even more brutal and awesome every time they release an new version.
