Our first date, our first car, the first time we got arrested or perhaps even the first time we found a game we like, Doom and Duke 3d gave me this feeling when I was just 2 years old, and I still carry those memories, so speaking of what we remember, This wad I found out about from a video series by Decino playing it introduced me to something I didn't expect and a wad I thought would've appeared at the 2021 Cacoawards.
Doom, The Way We Remember it, Also referred to as "Doom, But Something's not right", Cursed Doom, Doom From Memory or Mandela Doom was released on July 17th 2021, It's author list includes Walter Confetti, DoomKid, Death Bear, Marn and project leader Engried, The overall wad re-creates all 4 episodes of Ultimate Doom from memory but with various changes.
What stands out for me in DTWWRI is how each author changed the base map but still stuck to the basic formula while also adding things that were not really in the original maps but to reference it from "memory", Ammo placement could've been better but I enjoyed this one a lot, And with a mod like Gii Overkill or Enhanced Quake Shit, it's much more exciting
