0The more I go into Doom mods and wads, The more I find it incredible that people today can draw together massive worlds, mods that have so many features and so forth, I used to think that wads for Doom could only go so far.. That is, Until we saw Source Ports and how powerful they are.
Doom The Golden Souls is an TC wad that attempts to combine Mario style worlds with Dooms Gunplay, Inspired mostly by Super Mario 64, Golden Souls puts you in control of the Doom Marine going into an magical world where you must get "Golden Souls" which are similar to Power Stars, Getting these items unlocks new areas while coins gets you an item shop you can get upgrades for your guns or usable items.
The mod will strain your pc though, You must have an good system as you go further into the mod, The weapons could be better as it takes some time to kill the enemies, Despite that, I found this wad pretty unique and being an Super Mario 64 player this one gave me an goofy sort of smile!
