It is a difficult map with many situations where you are surrounded by enemies from the beginning to the end. You need to secure your main weapons, like a super shot gun and a rocket launcher, first after starting the map, both of which are located in the open air lava area. You will want to get a radiation suit to reduce health depletion, but you will have a hard time at the end of the game if you do not save this for the last remaining enemies to destroy them. You want to get the SSG and the RL quickly and leave the hall, but avoiding the many hit scanners and an arch-vile attacks will be extremely difficult. A blur artifact are relatively useful items, but you will usually die before you get through this area. Even if you are lucky enough to get through this early stage, you will find yourself surrounded by enemies in a trap that cannot be turned back after the red Key door and after the yellow Key door. You are in the lava and cannot afford to wait around and destroy each enemy individually. You will have to take the risk of running through to the safe zone, hoping for enemy infightings. After the yellow key door, it is very tricky, especially if there is an arch-vile there, and there are inevitably limited places where the arch-vile can block attacks on the arch-vile and other attacks at the same time.
