---- NOTICE: LONG DESCRIPTION ----
Leaderboards: http://www.speedrun.com/dwp
Unknown time without loads, because I think even the many autosaves count as load time. I suppose I could exclude any autosave time where you're not moving at all, but that would be tough to check at the bottom of a pitch black elevator ride..
As far as I know, I'm the only one that runs this, however this run is still extremely optimized. I was surprised to find so many ways to save time on this game.
---- Rules: ----
• Time starts as soon as "Press any key" fades out completely.
• Time stops as soon as the final message begins to show.
• Cap framerate to 60(Vsync on 60Hz monitor works, high FPS will make you fall through elevators and it probably has other negative effects seeing as the devs clearly didn't account for it).
• My mid-run splits happen as soon as the chapter title starts to show up after "Press any key," if you were wondering.
---- Findings / Speed tech: ----
• Moving diagonally makes you move faster, whether you're crouching, jumping, walking or running. You may not be able to notice (it took me ages to notice), but it saves minutes on the run overall. This is also used to cross gaps you aren't supposed to be able to cross.
• Some items can be picked up through walls or objects. This is seen multiple times in the run.
• The first door can be crouched under to save a little time. There's another door in the this area that also saves a bit of time if slightly crouched under. Both seen in the run.
• Pressing Tab to put away picked up notes will put them away much faster than other methods, especially if a note has multiple pages.
• Torture devices route map: http://i.imgur.com/wGY64aC.png (to scale)
• If needed, jumping with a lit torch will extinguish it(I actually needed this before refining a route).
• Let go of WASD before opening the inventory, or else it will spin you around ~180 degrees. Because of this, if you need an item, it is optimal to just spam the inventory key after another event finishes, such as picking up an item or autosaving.
• Grabbing the key in the statue's hand seems to only work if you're standing on the pedestal. It doesn't seem to be checking for height or angle, so you can't skip the pedestal pushing as far as I know.
• The key must be used to get the fuses. They can't be grabbed through the box at any angle.
• You don't need the 3 stone keys to build the big bridge, because you can do a very difficult gap jump right after getting the key and first fuse(required). This means you also don't need to waste time pulling the two giant pillars. It saves around 3 minutes. I'll dub it the bridge skip.
• In the big pillar boss room with all the platforming, you can do various gap jump skips here, however there are many large death planes, so what is seen in the run is probably the extent of these skips.
• It's possible to hardlock the game right before the final boss. Immediately after grabbing the note on the pedestal, fall off the ledge and it'll get stuck on a black screen with some ambient audio as the boss awakens at the same time you die. Must force close the game afterwards.
• Jumping down(never up) some stairs will save frames if those particular stairs are known to cause you to get caught up on them when descending them normally. I think all big staircases do this. Maybe just make it a habit to always jump down stairs, but never up them, as there doesn't seem to be a problem when going up and jumping up them doesn't save time as far as I know.
• Setting graphic quality to lowest seems to help framerate a ton. It appears to remove shadows. Even my GTX 970 had issues running the game smooth with shadows on, and the spear statue rooms are still really bad.
• There's also many skips unique to 100% runs, however I do not plan on running that and this is an Any% video. Some of them are cool, so it's disappointing they weren't useful in Any%. If someone runs 100%, I'll show some. 100% is the same as all achievements, so you can reset all achievements with Steam Achievement Manager as proof of completion during the run if you wish.
----
By the way, this video is the raw recording from OBS, because that keeps the file size low and rendering in Sony Vegas will freeze my computer anyway. It's only 587MB at 720p 60FPS! (4K video bitrate)

To me, routing and finding skips or time saves is the funnest part of speedrunning, so that's most of the reason I ran a game nobody else did.
