Dos madness | Golden Eagle(1991)2D Adventure with mind controlled people that wanted to break genres
One of those neat creative games that wanted to break genres and be a platform adventure with logic puzzles ... like Bandersnatch (yes, that game REALLY existed) a game that bankrupted a company ... later was pushed in 1985 as Brataccas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRWzrKvqnKs
So you get a basic game , that needs its manual to play since it has DRM with 3 letter codes... not to mention a map you have to fill out ... with tokens you can to cut out and place on the map (MUCH IMMMMMMEEEERRRSSION!!!!)
Basic control scheme of moving with arrow keys:
* press enter to pull out your gun ,
* space to shoot ,
* press Up to hide your gun ,
* double press left or right to run ,
* Up arrow to jump ,
* up-left or up-right to jump over a thing (but its context sensitive) ,
* press Up or Down to go Up or Down a plane to see a thing (computer console) ,
* press two times down to pick something up
Then you get those Terminal computers that give you the ability to Save, read mails for tips , see map , play FORCED MINI GAME REVERSI to get access codes to pass electric barriers (wtf!!!)
The main gist of it is, to run around a map, to collect parts of a golden statue, locked in safes, read mails for tips and codes, to make your profile have higher access level, play reversi for access codes to disable traps ... the thing is, its superb presentation tries to hide its broken design ... since all the time you will question how clueless you are, running around to get those golden parts ... locked in random safes , with its own combination you have to crack ... on a set sector ... locked by a profile code ... hidden by a forced REVERSI GAME ... Another World this is not , that was also out in the same year of 1991 ... that its standards later became norm in all games of this type ... that Flashback perfected in 1992
BY the way this game is also a sequel to this game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwpK4_K0ygQ
