Dr. Toppel's Adventure

Played using WolfMAME 0.257 with no autofire. This is a cute game with a VERY uneven difficulty curve. Parts of the game are easy: Stages 1-4 are no problem if you have power-ups (the turtle boss is difficult at first glance but doable once you practice a route). Stage 7 is mostly just a boss re-fight gauntlet, and the last boss doesn't even attack you! But stage 5 is quite difficult (only the slowdown made it possible) and stage 6 has a "maze" section with an absurdly high level of difficulty bordering on masocore game design. The game also has "gradius syndrome", meaning recovery from losing a life is extremely difficult.
