I've played this hack about half an year ago and posted a long-play of Richter Mode from it back then on this channel. Unfortunately, it was recorded on an inferior emulator and hardware, so now that I have a good PC and access to better tools and toys for it, I decided to beat the game again and try to make it the "definitive" gameplay video of the hack on YouTube. It turned out to be a lot harder than I thought, with the video editor taking hours upon hours of rendering the whole thing. In the end, I decided to go against editing the footage and releasing the raw video instead.

I recorded the credits on a separate recording, so I left those out entirely. None of the deaths were cut, everything is the way it was when I sat down and played through the entire game in one sitting. No cuts, no nothing.

One very important thing to mention is I used the linear filter to make the game look at least a bit smoother. SEGA Saturn version of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night has a known issue with wrong pixel scaling. It scales every forth pixel on the screen or so, the linear filter helps to hide that issue. It will still be visible if you look closely (especially visible if you know that the aspect ratio and screen resolution on the SEGA Saturn version of the game are completely inaccurate compared with those of the PSX version's), but it probably shouldn't bother anyone too much. At least I think it looks more pleasant on the eyes than the clearly messed up pixels.

Despite all that, I think the video turned out decently... there were definitely no Windows 10 notification sound effects this time around. However, I won't be describing the hack or game in the description like I always do, I am too exhausted after a pretty long month. I didn't really have time for uploads and this is the longest I've been out of my channel. I will still post the link to the hack used in the video, you can check it out for yourself and it no doubt explains itself better than I will ever do.

If you really wanna know why I couldn't get the edited video uploaded, here's the thing: it got bombarded by copyright claims. YouTube's copyright detection bot claimed that I had bits of copyrighted audio, which was untrue. Why so?
Well, first off, the copyrighted audio wasn't copyrighted. The video is strictly only the game itself, and the only part where it has copyrighted music is "I Am The Wind" in the ending, which, if I didn't say already, I recorded as a separate video that I planned to stitch together with the main video to make it easier to replace the track in it as well as make sure that the copyrighted music wasn't in the video in case things went south. And things went south, indeed.
Second, the bot claimed random parts of the video as copyrighted audio. It didn't matter what it was, it simply picked random small parts of it and branded them as having copyrighted audio. On the behalf of the same copyright holder. Which is, by the way...
Third, the claims the bot sent are on the behalf of some completely random studio and person who have zero relations to Konami, the real copyright holder for the game featured in the video. How come a random small "studio" that most likely doesn't even exist can claim parts of audio or video of random videos on YouTube belong to it when they clearly don't?
And last, the song listed as being claimed to be used is something like "Vania of The Castle Night Symphony". Basically, it's just the name of the game in the video with it's words scrambled into a random order. Really "smart" of them.

So, where does that get me? Some random schmuck went on YouTube and decided to abuse the heavily flawed copyright protection system, filed a song as being something that he owns and is now trying to leech off random idiots like me by forcing us to serve him ad-revenue on a silver platter. I am not even signed into any program on this site, I do videos for fun, but can you really call it fun when your hobby gets exploited like this because of people who don't care about others and only want to cash out their chips, no matter how little they can be?
I am not even sure what else to say, I had to roll back a lot of progress I did last week because the claims just kept piling up until I realized that the whole video was being claimed. I had no choice but to pull in the raw recording, I previously had it uploaded already so it made it easier to solve the situation.
At the very least, the advertisements won't enroll on this video, that should make it easier to watch without ad-blockers. Unless YouTube is forcing their advertisements on every single video out there regardless if they are in any partner program, which it might as well just be that.

Anyway, I feel completely burned. But I should be fine, I'll try and get something out soon. 'Till then, I hope.
