It's coming to this guys. We finish things up and it's then that three years have passed. The Androids have arrived.
On an island, nine miles southwest of South City, Amenbo Island would be the home of where the Androids strike. In Future Trunks' timeline, it was where Androids 17 and 18 would begin their attack and massacre the world. But in this timeline, two Androids did show up. They were Android 19 and 20. The Z Fighters arrive at Amenbo Island but they notice something new. Bulma has a son by her side and it's revealed that Bulma and Vegeta got married and had a kid. After encountering them, Goku heads to the Southern Continent where they do battle. Goku fights against Android 19 but he starts having pain in his heart. The heart virus has struck. 19 is set to finish the job until Vegeta shows up.
Vegeta transforms into a Super Saiyan, detailing his motivations in becoming one. Whereas Goku was driven out of anger and loss, Vegeta was driven by a desire to surpass Goku. Vegeta with his new power was able to outright obliterate 19, courtesy of a Big Bang Attack. This forces 20 to go on the run and into hiding. The Z Fighters did their best but a careless energy blast gave 20 the energy he needed to absorb and counter. He takes the fight to Piccolo. Piccolo gives it his all, to the point where he does major harm to him. It's then that Piccolo details that they had been preparing. They were warned three years ago about them and it gave them what they need to train and prep for this. Realizing that he's out of options, he goes on the run yet again but not before unleashing a blast that damages the area and Bulma's ship. Bulma is rescued along with her son and she then says that the Android they are fighting was none other than Dr. Gero. Gero retreats, realizing that in order to stand a chance, he must awakens Androids 17 and 18.
It gets worse. Future Trunks shows up, after learning that the Androids they are encountering are not the ones he had been fighting against. This time, he provides a detailed description on 17 and 18. They'll need it because in Part 17, the Androids are coming and they are not in peace.
