This is video #091 in my playthrough of Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride. This video contains commentary. To view the non-commentary version, click here: https://youtu.be/kJYBYZr6SqE

Thanks to some help from Treacle in Faerie Lea, Madason, his kids, and Sancho have made their way to the Faerie Palace and enlisted the help of Caramel, the Faerie Queen. She has given them the Gold Bauble and told them to take it upstairs.

So, after resuming, the party heads up the stairway behind Caramel's throne room (time 0:47). An interesting painting can be found in the east room. But more interesting still is the painting in the west room! The party begins by talking to the faerie next to the painting (time 1:45).

Then, the party examines the painting (time 2:17). Madason is transported to the Whealbrook of his childhood! Amazing! He has actually arrived just after the childhood events in Roundbeck but before the events in Faerie Lea. Time to go violate some of Doc Brown's time travel principles.

The weapon shop offers some basic equipment, if you really want to get it in your bag.

In Sancho's house, Madason can talk to Pankraz (time 6:46). Nothing he says will change Pankraz's mind about going to Coburg.

The main reason for this visit to the past is to talk to little Madason, who is standing outside the church with cute little Baumren (time 9:37). If you will remember, little Madason got the Gold Orb after his ghost-busting adventures in Uptaten Towers. Adult Madason will do a little sleight of hand and exchange the Gold Bauble for the Gold Orb! It's really nice the way they brought this little piece of the story together. It explains adult Madason's presence in the past much earlier in the game.

Once he's done, all Madason has to do is leave town normally (time 11:28). He will be back with the party at the Faerie Palace, and he will have the Gold Orb with him.

Back on the first floor, they confer with Faerie Queen Caramel again (time 12:45). The next task is fairly self evident.

So, the party Zooms directly to Zenithia under the waves (time 13:18). There, they have to go up to the throne room and then descend to the orb altar room. When they arrive, they have to talk to Dr Agon (time 14:44). He will place the orb in its proper place, and more magic will happen when he hits the switch below the ladder. Zenithia rises again! Nice rainbow on the lower screen by the way. Dr Agon will head off to check on things.

That is the party's cue to do the same (time 17:19). The Zenithian inhabitants were apparently in hibernation while the castle was underwater.

In the library, only a couple of books have remotely interesting information (time 21:53, 22:40). The librarian seems not to know anyone by the name of Dr Agon, though. Hm...

On the second floor, the party can find a woman looking after a sapling in a pot (time 25:28). It is a sapling of the Great World Tree, Yggdrasil! The party receives the Yggdrasil Sapling! This is yet another knick-knack for their collection.

The drawers in this room contain a T 'n' T Ticket and Mini Medal #055 (time 27:08).

Passing through the chimney opening, they can reach another room (time 27:32). Talking to the old man within, they learn that the Zenith Dragon's powers have been sealed away. The man actually tells them exactly where they need to go next: Talon Tower on an island west of Helmunaptra. On his advice, they open the chest of drawers and obtain the Grappling Hook (time 28:42). This key item will be needed simply to get into Talon Tower.

In the west room of the second floor, a faerie will tell the party about Yggdrasil Dew (time 29:08). Examining the basin near the faerie, the party can acquire one phial of Yggdrasil Dew (time 29:47). This delightful liquid will fully restore all party members' HP. The party can only have one container on hand, but when they use it, they can return to get another.

A Zenithian out in front of the castle will provide instruction on flying the castle (time 30:12). Yes, Zenithia is a flying castle! Much better than a certain hovering school building in a different RPG series; that school building doesn't really fly, per se.

Before flying off to the next destination, the party saves in Zenithia's prayer room on the first floor.

Thanks for watching!
