Previously, the party gathered the seven orbs. Now, it is time to confront Rhapthorne and clear the game so they can access the game's post-completion content.

After resuming in Empycchu, the party adjusts their inventory a little bit. Each member of the active lineup must have one slot remaining in inventory. Also, Jessica takes out an Yggdrasil Dew and a couple of Elfin Elixirs. These might come in handy. The protagonist and Yangus can do with Yggdrasil Leaves, as well.

When they are ready to go, they take flight with the Godbird's Soulstone (time 3:06).

West of Empycchu, they land at Empyrea's perch after a brief commuter flight (time 3:18).

A scene takes place when they approach Empyrea's perch (time 4:56). They answer Yes when asked if they have the orbs. She has recovered the sceptre, which is actually the Godbird Sceptre. The party must pray to the Godbird Sceptre in unison to summon the souls of the sages and break Rhapthorne's barrier. The party answeres Yes to her next two questions. She heals their HP and MP to full. Then, each party member receives the Godbird Sceptre. Afterwards, it is takeoff time.

In the next scene, Empyrea flies the party to the monstrous Rhapthorne (time 8:13).

The first part of the battle against Rhapthorne begins (time 8:28). Rhapthorne is surrounded by a barrier and invulnerable to attack. He can act twice in a round. He can cast powerful spells like Kafrizzle and Kaboom. He can dispel the party's buffs with Disruptive Wave. He can waste a turn by laughing defiantly. When he attacks with the ball from the top of his staff, it will deal over 100 points of damage to two random targets. He can also bring down a meteor shower on the party.

During this part of the battle, EACH member of the party must pray on the Godbird Sceptre in a round to summon the soul of a sage. They must do this seven times. Naturally, the party will also need to heal if Rhapthorne has dealt too much damage. In my case, I had Davilas cast Omniheal while the others defended. Jessica can die easily if the ball hits her twice.

The first part of the battle ends when the party summons all seven sages' souls (time 16:25).

A scene takes place afterwards (time 16:40). Goodbye to Rhapthorne's pesky barrier! Also, the party's HP and MP is fully restored.

Then, the battle against Rhapthorne begins in earnest (time 18:45). He retains his abilities from the first round, including the powerful ball attack. He gains fire breath and a damaging cold breath. He now has a meditation ability that will recover up to 500 HP. He gains Magic Burst, which can deal massive damage to the party. He can also recover his MP with a dark prayer. His arm attack damages the entire party for over 100 points of damage. His eye gleam puts a party member to sleep with high probability. When he calls for the anger of the gods, four strong meteors will strike party members at random.

Adequate healing is a must in this battle, especially if your level is low. Yangus and Jessica have Sage's Stones, Angelo has Multiheal, and the protagonist has Omniheal. Yggdrasil Dews can also help in a pinch. I highly recommend that Angelo and Jessica both know Kazing. Insulatle and Magic Barrier will help against Rhapthorne's breath attacks and spells, and Kabuff can help against the absurd ball attack. Tension can help, too. If not for Disruptive Wave, I would have stacked more buffs. Strong attacks are a must. Elfin Elixirs will help if and when your MP runs low. If no one dies during the battle, you're lucky.

Eventually, the party defeats the evil Rhapthorne (time 46:04).

Scenes begin after the battle (time 46:19). First, Rhapthorne goes to pieces. Then, the party celebrates their victory.

The next scene takes place in Castle Trodain (time 48:36). It is not long before the party and their friends realize the benefits of Rhapthorne's destruction. That curse sure wears off fast!

Afterwards, it is time for celebration (time 55:14). We are treated to a montage of delightful scenes. I like that Red and Morrie have been added.

Some time later, we rejoin Davilas in the guards' quarters (time 57:27). Yangus and Red arrive for some dialogue. Davilas and friends must now escort Princess Medea to Savella Cathedral.

We regain control of Davilas in the guards' quarters on the 1st Floor, East Wing (time 59:34).

Next time, we will continue the victory sequence.

Thanks for watching!
