Another addition of the version 2.3.5 update on 11/06/14 was the battle road. You can use three of your tamed monsters to battle at the monster colosseum in Arahageero. The fourth party member is hired from a selection of high leveled monsters of other players, with ones by your friends at the top of the list.

First you have to choose the monsters and equipment you want to register for use at the battle road. Then you actually equip them, which is independent from your usage of monsters and equipment pieces when you're not at the colosseum. Normally your character and their monsters are always quarreling over equipment usage and your character often ends up nude after changing jobs because a monster already wears their equipment. So they separated the normal game and the battle road in that regard to avoid this kind of hassle. This also means if you change your actual equipment and add alchemy effects to it, you have to register the piece again for its changed stats to be reflected.

Then you choose an available rank (starts at the bottom with G but you can unlock more) and an opponent team. They differ in their reward item, amount of battle road points (needed to increase your rank) and battle road coins (can be traded for special items only available at the colosseum). Sometimes yellow teams can be found which have higher point or coin values but also much stronger enemies. The reward items include costume tickets, horse/cow dung, lottery tickets, casino coin tickets and battle road badges.

Badges are a way to grant special characteristics of other monsters to your limited team of three. Each party member can equip three normal and one special badge and get stat increases and ailment/elemental resistances or such added attack effects typical of the monster depicted on the badge. Several normal badges can be traded for a special one, in case you accumulate too many unneeded doubles.

To take part in the battle road you need tickets of which you get 30 at the beginning. After that you get one extra ticket per day. Once you accumulate enough battle road points you can try a ranking match of three consecutive battles against much harder enemies (not shown in this video). You cannot use items during this test and are likely to run out of MP if your monsters aren't high level enough. Fortunately you can take this exam as often as you want until you clear it, without the need to use tickets each time.

Unlocking higher ranks means access to harder ticket battles with higher rewards and also a greater selection of items tradable for coins. Among the available items there is a scout book for Dracky (500 coins, rank E), a zoom stone to fly directly to the monster colosseum (1000 coins, rank D), a perfume doubling experience for your tamed monster for 30 minutes (300 coins, rank F), the hat and vest worn by the monster manager (2000 coins each, rank C), a killer machine visor accessory and a killer machine helmet (1500 coins each, rank B), and the bond emblem special accessory (20000 coins, rank A).
