Davilas is currently carrying out the Version 2.1 Gran Zedoura storyline. Previously, he started Quest 327, got the three items from around False Rendaashia, and cleared the door trial in True Sea Breeze Cave outside of Gran Zedoura. He also attempted to defeat the quest boss, but he ran out of time during Kids' Time.

Davilas resumes in the True Sea Breeze Cave. Before trying to face the Hell Battler again, he takes the eastern exit to the Gran Zedoura Castle cellars at H-4 (time 4:43). Using the ladder at F-6/G-6, he climbs out to the Gran Zedoura Castle courtyard (time 5:11). Davilas heads back home to rest after exiting.

When he has rested, Davilas returns to Gran Zedoura Castle using Anlucia's Ruura Stone (time 7:04). Then, he uses the teleportal's second option to fast-travel to the castle entrance (time 7:26). Afterwards, he goes down the hatch to the castle cellars at D-3 (time 8:14). From the cellars, he takes the exit at B-8 to the Sea Breeze Cave (time 8:42).

At H-2, he goes through the door to the royal family's treasury (time 11:56). Within, he finds a man in a black cloak. Looks sort of like a member of the Organization in Kingdom Hearts. He is stealing something from the treasury. When he leaves, a Hell Battler and two Dark Followers remain!

Afterwards, it is time to face the Hell Battler and Dark Followers (time 12:55). Wonderful DQ6 boss music! The Hell Battler has insanely strong magic. He has three AOEs with massive range centered around him. Io Grande is insanely powerful. The earthquake attack can knock people off their feet, which is bad. The dark circle is probably the worst because it can inflict confusion. The one good thing about him is that he does not have Disruptive Wave.

Keeping Wizard Ward or Magic Barrier up is a good idea. Take out the Dark Followers first, as they will buff the entire enemy party. The Hell Battler has 26,500 HP, which is an insane amount for Dragon Quest. Bring plenty of curatives, especially if you're going solo. MP-restoring items are especially important.

Davilas takes the precaution of attacking the two Dark Followers so that the party knows to attack them first. One good thing is that the AI characters seem good at avoiding the Hell Battler's AOEs.

Finally, the party defeats the Hell Battler (time 38:17). Geez, that guy is rough.

A scene takes place after the battle (time 38:42). Before dying, the Hell Battler mentions a Great Demon King Madesagoura. Who could that be? Afterwards, Rushenda arrives with a soldier in tow. After some dialogue and investigation, she invites Davilas to meet her back in her chambers.

Afterwards, Davilas uses Riremito/Evac to escape from the dungeon (time 41:01). This takes him out to the castle's underground passage.

On level 2 of the castle, Davilas checks in with Rushenda at E-6 in her office (time 43:17). She rewards Davilas with 3 Skill Books. Quest 327 complete!

Afterwards, there is a cutscene with Rushenda (time 44:36). She gets all glowy as she ponders who Madesagoura is.

Then, we cut to Crows, who is roaming through some ruin (time 45:11). He has visions of various personages. This is the end of the Version 2.1 story! The next storyline is Version 2.2.

Afterwards, a sort of epilogue plays (time 47:19).

When Davilas regains control, he reaches Minstrel Level 78 (time 48:47). He gains 2 skill points, which he puts into Staves for a total of 82.

Afterwards, Davilas heads home to rest. Next time, he will handle the quest to raise the level cap from Level 80 to Level 85.
