DRAGON QUEST XI - 16 - Luminary Floats, Back to the Casino, New Weapons! All Draconian Quest Option
All hail the Luminary! Dunno what happened there. I tried moving onto regular slot machines; unlike Slime Quest, you can't auto-spin for this. Your main tokens will come from Metal Mode, but I also figured out that if you also activate free spins, it doesn't tick away at the Silver spins. Picked up some new weapons from the Prize Exchange Counter that should definitely help with this run, at least for (hopefully) a little. And yeah, I swapped the Hero's abilities to be geared towards Greatswords again

On top of Draconian Quests, there are 2 other restrictions I’ve placed on myself, but this is mainly because it’s just how I normally play RPGs.
1 - No use of permanent stat boost items. This isn’t really for additional challenge as I tend to be conservative and wait until end-game or post-game to better plan out stat boost items in general. The exception to this was Seed of Skill for Skill Points
2 - Hero will be in for majority of every Boss Battle. So even though you can compensate for Shypox by swapping out the main Hero, I play it pretty much as normal, which is to always implement the Hero. If I have to, I’ll swap for strategy purposes

Info on the Draconian Quest modifiers and clarification (because I get asked a lot):
No Fleeing from Battle - Self-explanatory
No Shopping - Can’t buy items, weapons or armor; as an example, even from Mistress Bev who tries to sell you overpriced Holy Water won’t sell to you. Church/statue services are still valid though
No Armour - None at all. That also includes no shield and no accessories. Only weapons. This coupled with above though means you can’t buy weapons either.
Reduced Experience from Easy Fights - This is a little misleading; the in-game description makes it sound like you’ll get even less experience from weaker enemies, but you actually get ZERO experience from weaker enemies. So you can’t grind indefinitely to make up for no armor.
All Enemies Are Super Strong - Enemies have stronger stats, so you hit for less and they hit harder, and in some cases, have more than one turn because they’re faster. Don’t know about their HP or multiplier differences from their base. This along with no armor means they hit a whole heck of a lot harder, and you’ll have to keep up with gaining new weapons just to hit incrementally higher. And since you can’t grind indefinitely to compensate, you have to approach battles with a lot more thought in mind. Not that grinding will compensate for much since Resilience/Defence grows at a crawl.
Shypox - This is probably the worse thing of all when included with everything else. You’ll sometimes be “embarrassed” because of something, which makes you lose a turn. Absolutely detrimental. If it procs twice in a row, you’ll probably wipe immediately. This only affects the Hero however, but even at later parts in the game with a full party, losing a turn means having to adapt to a new strategy on the fly. To play it easier though, you can actually just swap out the main Hero. As a tiny advantage, sometimes when struck with a ailment, the Hero will be unaffected and a message will instead read, “Hero seems to be embarrassed.”
