Previously, Davilas helped Prince Faaris of Samadii by horse-racing in his place. Now, the party must head into Samadii Castle to claim their reward.

In the Race House, a guard outside the door to Prince Faaris's changing room has some story info (time 2:11).

The party heads into Samadii Castle (time 2:59). A guard just inside the castle will have more story info.

On the second floor, they find Prince Faaris before the king (time 3:40). He is about to ask his father to give the party the Rainbow-colored Branch when a guard rushes up. There is a monster rampaging in the Bakuraba Sand Dunes to the north. Impressed with his son's performance, King Samadii assigns Prince Faaris to go deal with the threat. Poor Faaris is fit to shake to pieces. He asks the party to meet him in his room.

After the scene, the minister will have some more story information (time 6:00). Downstairs, there will be some unfortunate guards recently returned from the sand dunes.

Another scene occurs as the party enters Prince Faaris's chambers (time 7:50). He begs the party to help him deal with the threat in Bakuraba Sand Dunes. Up to this point, he hasn't had to do any real fighting. Of course, the party will help out; they need that Rainbow-colored Branch.

So, the party leaves the castle (time 10:40). A guard just outside the castle gates will have some more story info. East of the town entrance, the party drops down the well to pick up some more Narspicious. A few people have turned out to wish Prince Faaris well.

A scene ensues as the party approaches Prince Faaris (time 13:10). They head out with him to Samadii Desert, where a few other soldiers are waiting. The prince plans to capture the monster and bring it back. The guards are not enthusiastic. After the prince and his retinue leave, Sylvia drops in! He offers to help the party deal with the desert monster. Well, certainly. The more, the merrier! Sylvia joins as a guest.

After the scene, the party regains control in Samadii Desert just outside Samadii Kingdom (time 15:26). They must now head west towards the camp and then go north through the guarded checkpoint to Bakuraba Sand Dunes.

After a battle, Camus reaches Level 13 (time 17:41). He gains 3 skill points for a total of 8. He spends 6 skill points on a Boomerang trait to raise strength by 5 while he is equipped with a Boomerang.

Pursuant to Quest 8: "Delicious Cactus Steak" issued in Samadii Castle Town, the party encounters a Gold Cactiball (time 19:18). It is a little tougher than the average Cactiball.

After the battle, Davilas reaches Level 13 (time 21:11). He gains 3 skill points for a total of 8. He spends 8 skill points on a Courage ability, the spell "Dein" or Zap. This is a lightning attack against a group of enemies.

Afterwards, the party acquires the key item Golden Cactus (time 21:55). This will go to the cook in the pub.

In the southwest of the desert, the party rests (time 22:44). As he approaches the Mysterious Blacksmith, Davilas gains another crafting level. There are several new recipes to try out. For Senya, he makes a Lantern Wand, which requires a Beast Bone and a Hephaestus' Flame. He succeeds at making a Lantern Wand +1. For Veronica, he makes a Wizard's Staff. This requires a Hot Stone, a Hephaestus' Flame, and two Beautiful Branches. Davilas succeeds at making a Wizard's Staff +2. The Wizard's Staff can be used in battle to cast a free Frizz spell.

Davilas then makes a Mage's Turban for Veronica. It requires two Cottons, a Sand Fruit, and a Narspicious. He succeeds at making a Mage's Turban +1. He also makes her a Mage's Top. This requires one Cotton, one Narspicious, and one Savannah Water. He succeeds at making a Mage's Top +1. Finally, he makes a set of Mage's Gloves. This require two Cottons, a Sand Fruit, and a Butterfly Wing. Davilas succeeds at making Mage's Gloves +1.

Next time, the party will head north to confront the threat in Bakuraba Sand Dunes.
