Previously, the party explored Samadii Castle Town. Now, they will enter the castle and meet the royal family.
In the north of town, they enter Samadii Castle (time 2:18). There are lots of cats in here.
Along the western wall close to the western training area, there is a barrel containing a Strong Antidote (time 3:11).
A little farther north along the western wall, there is a pot containing a Strong Medicine (time 4:12).
In the king and queen's bedroom in the northwest of the main floor, there is a chest containing Soldier Earrings (time 6:01).
The wardrobes in the king and queen's bedroom contain Boxer Shorts and Fishnet Stockings (time 6:28).
In Prince Faaris's bedroom in the northeast of the main floor, the wardrobe contains a Feathered Cap (time 8:36).
A chest in the prince's bedroom contains an Iron Sword (time 8:44).
One of the pots in the prince's bedroom contains a Sleeping Hibiscus (time 9:03).
Along the eastern wall near the eastern training area, there is a pot containing a Grubby Bandage (time 10:07).
As the party heads up the northern stairs to 2F, the throne room, a scene occurs (time 11:55). They will find King Samadii practicing his speech for an upcoming event. Then, the king's son, Prince Faaris arrives. At first glance, he certainly seems to be the antithesis of Charmless from DQ8. For his 16th birthday, he will take part in the Faaris Cup, a horse race. Then, when he walks by the party, he studies Davilas quite closely. Davilas tells him what the party is seeking. The prince asks the party to meet him in his bedroom.
The minister will have some story information (time 14:43).
In the southeast corner of 2F, the pots contain Savannah Water and Kitty Litter (time 15:33).
At the eastern end of the northern balcony, one of the pots contains a Wakerobin (time 16:11). The northern balcony affords a wonderful view of the horse track.
Right behind King Samadii's throne, there is a chest containing 1,500 Gold (time 18:07). Magnificent!
The party talks to Prince Faaris in his bedroom on the first floor (time 19:02). The branch that they seek is the Rainbow-colored Branch, and it is a treasure of the kingdom. He will ask his father to give it to them ... if they help him. However, the castle's walls have ears, so he asks them to meet him at the Circus Tent.
So, the party heads back out to Samadii Castle Town (time 21:31).
Prince Faaris, masterfully disguised, will be waiting for them outside the entrance to the Circus Tent (time 22:01). They head inside the tent, where the show is about to begin. The announcer introduces Sylvia, the entertainer! Sylvia puts on an interesting juggling show. Then, Prince Faaris gets down to business. In spite of his upbringing, he can't ride a horse! He noted that Davilas had the build to impersonate him while wearing full armor. When the party agrees to his proposition, he sets them up for a free night at the inn and tells them to meet him at the Race House in the morning. Unfortunately, someone notices his cape...
Then, morning comes in the inn (time 26:46).
In the Race House, a guard with story information is waiting outside Prince Faaris's dressing room (time 28:21).
In the dressing room, the party talks to the prince (time 28:35). He helps Davilas into his racing armor. Maybe it's just me, but I think that a full suit of armor would slow down and tire out the poor horse.
Outside, Davilas mounts Prince Faaris's magnificent horse (time 31:05).
Then, he approaches the entrance to the racetrack (time 31:22). He must tell the guard that he is ready to race. In a scene, he is greeted by Faaris's cheering fans as he enters. He is also greeted by a fellow competitor, none other than Sylvia! The competitors line up at the starting line.
Before the race starts, the player receives a tutorial on horse racing (time 33:28). Hold R2 to dash, and press Square to drift through turns. Dashing drains a stamina gauge at the top-center of the screen. The green circles on the track will refill some of the horse's stamina.
Then, the race begins (time 33:41). There are three laps to the Faaris Cup. The main problem will be Sylvia, who is an excellent rider, but he is not very hard to defeat. Fortunately, you do not need to win.
At the end, Davilas crosses the finish line first (time 35:01).
The description is continued in the comments.
