Previously, the party returned to Kreimoran. They learned that people were being turned to gold and then abducted by golden monsters. The monsters even captured the memory-challenged Camus. Now, the party will head to the Viking Hideout to save Camus.
After starting in Kreimoran, they board the ship (time 2:23). In the western part of Kreimoran Bay, they land at the Viking Hideout (time 2:58).
As the party approaches a door leading to the main room of the hideout, a scene plays (time 3:57). More gold monsters are inside. Camus is alive and un-goldened in a cell.
The party enters the main room of the hideout (time 4:59). The monsters realize that the hero Davilas is among the party, so one of them runs to warn their leader, Glittering Gold.
Then, it is time to battle some more gold-plated warriors (time 6:15). There are four Gold Skeletons and a Gold Soldier this time.
After the battle, the party frees Camus (time 8:24). In a disoriented state, he ambles off.
The party regains control in the main room of the hideout (time 9:21). The party heads farther north.
After a small outdoor section of the Kreimoran Region, they pass north through the door to a narrow corridor (time 11:28). Camus is there, struggling to remember.
The party also finds a root of the Tree of Life (time 12:13). It shows Camus working as an underappreciated Viking assistant. The boss seems like a bully. It also shows Camus's cute sister, Maya. A they talk about the future, a pretty seagull pays them a visit.
The party examines the root a second time (time 17:18). Maya is polishing a coin, when Camus gives her a present, a necklace that he found among the booty. She jokingly says she would rather have the Red Orb. When she puts it on, though, she finds that it gives her the Midas touch. She can turn anything she touches to gold! She is excited, but Camus is very worried.
The party examines the root a third and final time (time 21:22). Camus is concerned that Maya is turning everything she can get her hands on to gold, including the seagull that visited them in a previous scene. Looking at the bird, she realizes that he might be right. She tries to get the necklace off, but it's stuck! Tragedy strikes when the necklace begins turning HER to gold. There is nothing that Camus can do. He leaves her locked in the same corridor where the party is now.
Afterwards, the party talks to Camus, who is standing near a puddle of gold (time 27:28). He has regained his memories. He explains that he left to find some way to undo the curse on Maya, including the Red Orb and the power of the hero. But what has happened to Maya? Hopefully, the party will find some answers as they go to confront Glittering Gold. Camus rejoins the party, and his Skill Panel has returned to normal. Thank the Goddess!
Camus currently has 124 skill points to spend on his Skill Panel at Level 39 (time 31:12). He picks up several Boomerang nodes again, including Dual Cutter and Power Throw. Under his Acquisitiveness skill, he picks up a bonus of 10 additional skill points. Acquisitiveness abilities that he did not get before are Shadow Step in the upper left and the "hidden" ability in the middle, Bunshin. This amazing ability creates copies of Camus so that any of his abilities strikes three times. He saves the remaining 29 skill points, because it's just possible that his Skill Panel will get expanded in the near future.
The party returns to the Goddess statue near the entrance of the hideout to rest and save. Next time, they will proceed north and begin the next dungeon.
Thanks for watching!
