This is video #101 in my playthrough of Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age. I am playing the Western version for the Sony PlayStation 4. Previously, after some sad events in Arboria, the party revived the legendary flying whale, Cetacea. She can now fly them to numerous locations accessible in the Sky. Unfortunately, their landing options are a bit limited in this game, but at least they can now get to some new areas.

After the party resumes the game, Serena gets her new Vim trait Enchanting Echo, which is on a hidden panel between Wands and Vim. With this trait, she can occasionally cast the same spell twice at no extra cost. She also gets the hidden Spear ability Be Like Water between Spears and Vim.

The party uses the Calamus Flute to board Cetacea in the Sky. To the east, past Mordegon's flying castle, the party finds a more appealing floating island. A scene takes place as they land here at Havens Above.

After checking the island, the party enters the Temple of Dawn. There, they meet an interesting humanoid creature. He tells them about his people, the Watchers.

In the main chamber of the temple, the party examines an object on a pedestal before the huge ball of flame. The party acquires the Guiding Light! Afterwards, the party can examine the seedlings in the chamber.

The party examines each of the three seedlings in turn. They get three visions showing them what they must do next.

As they go to the entrance chamber, there is another scene with the young Watcher. He identifies the floating island that the party saw in the vision. Hotto and Gallopolis are put back on the Zoom list, if you haven't revisited them yet. The young Watcher will still be in the Temple of Dawn to dispense advice.

So, now the party must visit another floating island, Battleground, to get some mysterious ore, and they must get a certain hammer in Gallopolis. Then, in Mount Huji near Hotto, they should be able to forge another Sword of Light.

But before that, the party will do some optional stuff, including sidequests and exploration. They start by Zooming to the Strand. From there, they sail to Lonalulu in the southeast.

In the southwest of Lonalulu, the party finds a little boy and a mermaid. The boy issues the quest "Soothing Seaweed". He wants them to find some Dulcet Dulse to help the mermaid recover her voice. It can be found on an island near Sniflheim, i.e. the Insula Algarum.

The party Zooms to Sniflheim City and ships out. Sailing southeast, they arrive at the Insula Algarum south of the Snærfelt.

Near the Insula Algarum pier, they find a fishing merman. Right away, the merman hands over some Dulcet Dulse.

The party Zooms back to Lonalulu. When they show the Dulcet Dulse to the boy, he asks them to give it to the mermaid. So, they do. Afterwards, they report to the boy. He rewards them with five units of Molten Globules. Quest complete!

Next time, the party will carry out quests in Lonalulu and Nautica.
