Previously, the party took down Mordegon's lieutenant, Jasper Unbound. Now, before they continue on to face the Lord of Shadows, they will hunt down the last monsters remaining in the Fortress of Fear.

After the party resumes, Davilas equips the Circle of Serendipity, earned at 75 Mini Medals. This increases the chances of meeting rarefied monsters.

Then, they begin poaching Metal Dragons in the southwest of the first floor of the Fortress of Fear. Eventually, they flush out the Clockwyrm, the Metal Dragon's rarefied cousin.

Afterwards, on the third floor, they quickly find the Brodysseus, the rarefied form of the Jerkules. I was expecting more of a grind to meet it, to be honest.

At Level 57, Serena learns the spell Kaboom. Spending some points in Whips, she picks up the abilities Lashings of Love and Hit the Hay. Her middle ability in Whips is Twin Dragon Lash, which can be a punishing attack. At Level 57, Sylvando picks up the Knives ability Cobra Strike.

Now, it is time to prepare for the encounter with the Lord of Shadows. They Zoom to Hotto and visit the armour shop. Hendrik and Sylvando get some Liquid Metal Armour, while Jade and Erik grab some Bandit Mail.

Then, at camp, Davilas picks up the Master Stroke Hephaestus' Flame. This becomes available once per crafting session and guarantees that the next blow is critical. Davilas makes himself a Liquid Metal Gooreatsword. After picking up another Densinium in the Northern Champs Sauvage, Davilas hammers out another Liquid Metal Gooreatsword for Hendrik. He also makes a Liquid Metal Sword and a Liquid Metal Spear. Then, he makes a Warrior Princess's Headdress for Jade.

Next time, the party will take a stab at the Lord of Shadows.
