Previously, the party revisited Gallopolis. After a sequence of scenes in the city and in the Celestial Sands, they earned the Forging Hammer. They now have the Orichalcum and Forging Hammer needed to make the Sword of Light. Now, they will carry out a couple of quests and then visit Hotto.

On the walkway above the Paddock in Gallopolis, they find an astronomer, who issues the quest "A Little Bit of Lantern". He wants a piece of Erdwin's Lantern that has fallen to the desert north of Gallopolis.

The party Zooms to the North of Gallopolis Campsite. At the Pernicious Peninsula, the area where they fought the Slayer of the Sands, they find a golden sparkly spot that yields a Lantern Shard. This is what the astronomer wants.

The party Zooms back to Gallopolis and turns in the Lantern Shard to the astronomer. He rewards them with three Agates of Evolution, as well as information about the shards. Quest complete!

Then, they Zoom to Arboria. They find a minstrel standing outside the item shop. He issues the quest "A Long-Lost Literary Love". He wants the party to find the other part of a letter that he found, and he points them to the noble houses of Gallopolis.

The party Zooms to Gallopolis. Upstairs in the northwest house, they talk to the butler. It sounds like a certain woodcutter from the Manglegrove took it with him.

The party Zooms to the Manglegrove Campsite. In the Woodcutter's Hut, they examine the bookshelf. They manage to find a letter hidden inside. Note that if you have not spoken with the butler in Gallopolis, you will not find the letter.

The party Zooms back to Arboria and turns in the letter to the minstrel. He rewards them with the recipe book "Things to Do with Metal Goo". This fine volume has recipes for Metal Slime Swords, Metal Gooreatswords, Metal Goomerangs, Metal Slime Spears, Metal Slime Shields, Metal Slime Helms, and Metal Slime Armour.

Now, the party Zooms to the Hotto Steppe Campsite. In the eastern section of the Hotto Steppe, the party can find a Vicious Midnight Horknight that they can defeat to gain the use of its mount. This will let them cross the waterways in the Hotto Steppe and reach new treasures and sparkly spots.

On a shore south and a little west of Hotto, a chest contains some Molten Globules.

The party enters the town of Hotto. In the northwest of town, they enter Miko's Shrine for a cutscene. They meet Miko and agree to her request.

Outside the sauna building in the northeast of town, they meet a well-to-do Heliodorian lady. She assigns them the quest "Some Like it Hotto". She wants Fiery Brimstone, which can be procured from Lava Lamplings in Mount Huji.

After Zooming to the Hotto Steppe Campsite, the party ascends the path to Mount Huji between Hotto and the campsite. A scene takes place as they arrive. They soon discern the true nature of the beast.

To the east, the party enters the Hideout. There, they meet Atsuo, Atsuko, and their mother. The kids explain their actions. Then, Atsuo asks the party for help. How could the party refuse?

Climbing the ladder to the east, the party finds the Secret Entrance in Mount Huji. Another cutscene takes place at the northern end of this path. There, they observe something that troubles them greatly. Afterwards, they must return to Miko in Hotto.

In the Secret Entrance, the party can find the Lava Lamplings that they need to defeat for the quest "Some Like it Hotto". After a battle, they acquire the Fiery Brimstone for the quest.

The party Zooms back to Hotto. Next time, they will conclude the quest and then confront Miko.
