Tran has travelled back through time, arriving in the Arborian Highlands with the Sword of Shadows in hand. Upon reaching Arboria, he is reunited with his companions, and they journey together to the Heart of Yggdrasil. When they get there, everything happens as it did before, and they are attacked by Jasper.

But armed with his new sword and the knowledge of what his enemy is planning, our hero is able to thwart the attack, and give Jasper his just deserts. King Carnelian arrives with Hendrik, and instructs Tran to claim the Sword of Light — the only weapon with which Mordegon can be defeated — before inviting the triumphant heroes to Heliodor Castle for a feast in their honour.

The celebrations still in full flow, our hero returns to his chamber to rest, but as he slumbers, King Carnelian steals into his room, intent on claiming the Sword of Light for himself. He fails to lay his hands upon his prize however, and as Tran's companions burst into the room, they see the King for what he truly is.
