Here's a fairly old-school JRPG, learned heavily from early Dragon Quest. This game is yet another branch of the wide Dragon Slayer franchise, and is the root of the more modern Trials of Cold Steel and such games.

It's not a bad game really, but some of its problems show pretty apparently. Sometimes the game leaves you with no hint as to how to progress. Sometimes it expects you to level up and buy gear with no content to bridge that gap. Sometimes dungeons are way too dense with encounters.

But one thing is constant. The voice acting brings me so much joy with its overacting, terrible fake accents, and tin can quality. On top of that, the music is consistently superb. The CD audio of this game absolutely elevates its playability considerably.

Even if the voice acting makes me laugh a lot, there's a lot of heart and effort put into this game. If you can get over the level bumps and the missed plot triggers, there's a lot to like here. Broadcasted live on Twitch -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/facetraccoon
