Shoutouts to vaxherd who recently made a new NES DW3 TAS (http://tasvideos.org/4992S.html), and brought seed locking in DW2 to light (at least for me)
and コールちゃん (http://com.nicovideo.jp/community/co1539672) who has been doing Famicom runs with seed lock.

There's probably a better name out there, but I haven't felt like doing the legwork to find a 4 character name that names Cannock Bran or Lars and Moonbrook Roz yet.

A quick run down of the route used here:
Pick up Gold and the Copper Sword. Equip the Copper Sword.
Go to Cannock, sell the Copper Sword and buy a Wing of Wyvern. Talk to the king, but do not save. If you save, this will break the seed lock.
Go to the Spring of Bravery, talk to the old man, get the Medical Herb, and Wing back. Get Cannock in Leftwyne.
Go to the Lake Cave, and pick up the 2 Gold Chests, Wing of Wyvern, and the Silver Key. Leave, and go all the way to the Mirror of Ra, and then get Moonbrook.
Go to the Tower of Wind, get the Gold chest, the Cloak of Wind and Wing back to Cannock. Break the seed lock by saving at the King.

Go to Leftwyne, fighting things along the way. Once you're there, sell Moonbrook's equipment, buy Antidotes with any spare gold over 200, then buy and equip a Magic Knife for Midenhall.
Travel to Hamlin, the goal is to reach Levels 5, 4, 2 with Midenhall, Cannock and Moonbrook. If you hit Hamlin before that, rest at the Inn, and then go out and fight some more.
Once you're at that level, rest at the inn again, and buy Medical Herbs with any cash left over.

The walk to Lianport can be handled many ways, usually depending on how many lottery tickets you got before you left. If you're short on Herbs, save all your MP for healing and just run from everything.
Otherwise, you can fight stuff in between Hamlin and the Moonbrook Shrine, and pick off things like small groups of Ghost Rats and Medusa Balls. If you can, try and grab the Dew Yarn on the way over, as having to back track will lose time.
Once you're at Lianport, sell a Leather Armor or two to finance any resurrection costs and a stay at the Inn.
The Gremlins can be really treacherous at this level, and your success depends on if the Gremlins stay asleep and how well Midenhall and Cannock coordinate their hits.

After you get the boat, go to Zahan, get the Gold Key, sell off all your armor that's left over, buy 3 Fairy Waters, go to Midenhall, save, pick up the Wing of Wyvern, and gold.
Head to Osterfair to pick up the Gaia Armor and farm up Magic Knives to fund the purchase of the Jail Key and then go and buy it and wing back to Midenhall and proceed on the route you use as normal.

The next big thing will be achieving seed lock for the Road to Rhone, which is definitely doable in the Famicom version. Though since their save system is totally different, who knows if we can get it on the NES version.

and now looking at the video here, I just realized I forgot to adjust the cropping in Amarec. At least it didn't cut off anything too important?
