Draining Almost 60% of Tsugumi´s Health In One Combo After Interrupting her Revenge Counterattack
Here it is. As I've mentioned in previous video descriptions, Tsugumi is one of my favorite bosses to fight and a good example of how revenge value should have been implemented in this game. Don't just have noise enemies magically fall out of your combos after one or two short strings; that to me is probably the worst part of the revenge value mechanic. A simple solution to this would have been to just have the enemy (regular noise fodder that is) attempt to throw out an attack when they hit a value, forcing the player to do one of two things: either dodge and attempt to keep the combo going, or inflict a status or finisher at the right frame opening to interrupt the attack. This would add a layer of skill to game to incentivize players to pay attention to enemy openings and take advantage of them to in order to extend combos rather than just taking away the entire opportunity after a few combo strings. Speaking of Combos, I feature a number of combos on Tsugumi in my most recently dropped Combo mad of Neo (check it out; it's pretty great), so if you're interested, follow this link:
