Neo: TWEWY- What High-Level Multi-Pin Wielding Looks Like- Session 1 (Energy Sword Multi-Wielding)
Welcome to a new series of Neo: TWEWY vids; we're in the Multi-wielding saga of my gameplay chronicles. This one will probably be a few episodes long and is mostly meant to feature a variety of Multi-wielding combinations from a variety of pin types. In today's episode, we explore the utility of multi-wielding 3 sword type pins on one button. I also decided to get a little greedy and added the auto-combo sword type pin seen in most of these clips for a total of 4 swords!!! Suffice it to say, things get quite hack-and-slashy in these fights. At first I didn't think much of multi-wielding; figured it was just a crutch the devs put in to allow certain players who found managing six buttons during combat to be difficult an easier time, but man was I wrong (for the most part anyway).
Multi-wielding can certainly take off the burden of having to manage 6 different button inputs, but the utility having multiple pins equipped to one button brings cannot be understated; there's actual strategy here: like picking the appropriate pin types to have on the same button or knowing how to sync/de-sync your same-button pins during battle. Not only does multi-wielding provide increased damage per second against foes, it also opens up combo routes that might have not been possible (or at least flow into each other more gracefully) without it. Now typically you can just mash the triangle button (Y on the switch) and let the swords do whatever, but I've noticed there are ways to slightly delay the onset of each of the finishers so as to get the right combination of said finisher to land in the sequence you would want them. A lot of that has to do with the duration of attack for the specific pin, the type of finisher, the buffer between the last regular hit of a sword slash and the onset of the finisher, and your position on the battlefield. I also like to use lock-on switching strats to desync the finishers. I typically use lock-on switching as both an offensive pressure tool and movement option, but some of the switching I do in this vid is my attempt at desyncing the swords.
I'm not gonna pretend I've mastered the technique quite yet (not to mention there are random, uncontrollable factors that prevent the tech from being perfect) but when I do nail it in this vid (and spectacularly so in the third combo mad coming later to the channel), boy does it look fucking sick. Anyway, enough rambling from me, I'll be dropping more episodes/sessions soon. I'm gonna try to get to endgame stuff by this week (or at the very least have ultimate mode unlocked so I can have access to rarer pins for these vids) and use them to spice up future Neo: TWEWY content.
