In this episode, Kian finally gets a chance to investigate the strange engine that the Azadi have been building all over Marcuria - to do this, he has to steal a mechanic's tools, figure out how the pipe mechanism works, and sabotage it (in a rather nasty manner) to get access to the engine room. There, he meets Ferdows, a specialist on the project, who finally sheds a bit of light on the odd purposes of the engine - though hardly sufficient to understand it all. Kian is also briefly reunited with his old mentor, General Hami, with enough time to inform Hami of the conspiracy between Vamon and Sahya.
