Driver 2 Walkthrough Part 8: Endgame (FINAL MISSION & ENDING)
2Arriving to the cabin on the outskirts of Rio, Tanner enters it and finds it ransacked with Jones laying injured on the ground. Just then, gunshots ring out through the house, revealing that Vasquez's hitman who wounded Jones is still present. Scrambling to return fire, Tanner engages the hitman in an shootout as he retreats towards his car with Tanner proceeding to pursue him after being urged to by Jones, eventually running him off the road. Afterwards, Tanner contacts Caine, telling him that Lenny is about to leave the city via helicopter taking off from Copacabana fortress with Caine sending Tanner to collect Jericho in order to stop the helicopter from leaving. Tanner obliges and rushes with Jericho to the fortress, with two men reaching it just as Lenny's helicopter takes off. Undeterred, two men shoot at the helicopter as it levels off, severely damaging its engine and causing it to start falling. As Jericho prepares to head back into a car to follow the helicopter to its eventual crash site, Tanner puts him at gunpoint, revealing his true identity as FBI detective and forcing Jericho to drop his weapons and stay put, urging him to tell Caine that he needs Lenny more than his organization, remaining unphased by Jericho's threat that he will find him and avenge his betrayal. Afterwards, Tanner returns to the car and proceeds to pursue Lenny's helicopter as it careens all over Rio, eventually crashing. With Lenny having survived the crash, Tanner taunts him and proceeds to beat him up for the chaos he had caused.
Soon afterwards, Tanner returns to Chicago with handcuffed Lenny in tow. Despite the war between Caine and Vasquez having been averted by Lenny's successful capture by FBI, Tanner's boss wonders what two gangsters will do now with Tanner ascertaining that two men will "return to where they were before", having come to the conclusion that there is something deeper between two gangsters than their joint desire to use Lenny for their organization's benefit. True to his prediction, back in Rio, Vasquez and Caine meet up at the foot of the statue of Christ the Redeemer and make amends for the damage they had inflicted upon each others' businesses while fighting over Lenny, revealing that they once worked together as Caine possesses the same tattoo on his arm as other criminals working for Vasquez.
And with that, this pretty embarrassing walkthrough of Driver 2 is concluded.
