Driver 2 Walkthrough Part 2: The Cuban Connection
Tanner and Jones manage to intercept the train carrying the witness and force him out on gunpoint. After a brief interrogation on the train platform, two detectives discover that Pink Lenny used to work as an financial book keeper of the criminal organization led by Solomon Caine and attempted to defect to Vasquez's gang, implying that the men who attempted to kill Lenny and killed the Brazillian gangster in an bar shooting previous night were hitmen sent by Caine. They also discover that one of Vasquez's men will do a drop-off of something important to the gang from his safehouse the following day at 10 AM, allowing Tanner and Jones to continue focusing on investigating Vasquez and his plans. That same night, Pink Lenny prepares to leave his safehouse, intent on escaping both Vasquez's and Caine's reach as he realized that his former boss became aware of his planned defection after the earlier shooting. However, as he gets off the phone with his getaway driver, a thug working for Vasquez breaches the apartment and, despite Lenny's protests, takes him away.
Following morning, Tanner and Jones arrive to Vasquez's safehouse and follow his man through Chicago, eventually reaching an warehouse where they discover that the man dropped off a crate full of forged Cuban documents and identifications, implying that Vasquez plans to spread his organization's activities there. However, as they investigate, police arrives to the warehouse, forcing Tanner and Jones to split up with Tanner escaping back to his own safehouse. Once there, he gets up to his apartment and finds it unlocked and ransacked, only to quickly be ambushed by a man who had entered the apartment before his return. Despite the man punching him to the ground, Tanner is able to get back up and pursue him as he attempts to escape via the building's fire escape with the ensuing car chase ending with Tanner's attacker leading the detective to a sprawling warehouse compound where Tanner realizes that he has been led into a trap as his attacker, a man named Jericho, is an enforcer working for Solomon Caine. As he is disarmed and brought in front of Caine himself, Tanner discovers that the gangster is aware that he is looking for Lenny but is unaware that he is an detective, with Caine warning Tanner that Lenny isn't his concern and offering him a chance to tell him what he knows about Lenny before he is killed. As Tanner refuses to say anything, Caine curtly orders Jericho to execute the detective. However, as he leads him into one of the warehouses to do so, Tanner physically overpowers Jericho and escapes into the warehouse, quickly managing to take a car parked inside and use it to break out of the compound and escape. That night, with Vasquez's men having discovered Tanner's and Jones' intrusion into their warehouse, two detectives find themselves openly targeted by the Brazillians. With both Caine and Vasquez now gunning for them, Tanner and Jones meet up and decide to leave Chicago via train, being forced to drive to the city's train station while being mercilessly pursued by Vasquez's men...
