I've received numerous comments about using a second GPU in your system to offload OBS's processes to help boost performance or reduce the performance impact that streaming has on your system. I've always said that it's a bad idea and can lead to much worse performance - along with the issues of various video sources not working or breaking, and the OBS devs have shared the same sentiment. BUT NO MORE! I finally have actual data to back up my claims that NO, a second GPU does NOT help your streaming performance, at all!

NOTE: It's also worth noting that actually capturing your games is a GPU process as well, but I was including that in my "compositing/rendering" grouping. There's multiple steps there, I just grouped them into one for brevity.
