Dual Universe: Ship Rescue After Stranding it in Orbit - N299 Muleman Exteneded
This is me successfully rescuing my ship in Dual Universe from orbit round moon 1 of Alioth.
Hope this video helps other unfortunate pilots who make similar mistakes.
To set the scene: Since I learned how to orbit planets, I have taken a liking to park my ships in orbit when I have a tile however, it has been a long time since I had a ship without an interior. So I expected to be boarded to the ship when I dismounted from my control seat however, instead I ended up falling to the ground, while my ship remained in orbit. I suspect this was partially a bug as I should really have remained in orbit with the ship and not fallen however, my jetpack was not available so it might be how the game works when you are considered to be in a non-jetpack area.
Anyway since I had no ship to fly with on this moon I had to force a respawn, which placed me back at haven (my starting tile). I headed to the nearest Port and bought a Exacutus SE, NOT the best ship for this job as it turns out it only has two space engines. Something I did not notice until I had left Haven (Woops), the ship is cheap though. This meant I had to make modifications in flight to the moon (Moved one of the space engines, removed some adjusters and the glass in front of the cockpit) and while not my finest work, did facilitate what I needed from the ship.
The video starts as I am approaching the lost ship and ends when I return to the moons surface having chased the Exacutus SE to the surface.
The ship I am rescuing is a modified NQ ship called N299 Muleman, I have basically made it longer, added some more containers, increased the engine capacity including an engine block at the back. I have named it N299 Muleman Extended to indicate it is not my own unique ship but certainly modified from the original design.
