The 2001 E3 build of Duke Nukem Forever has recently leaked online, and this is some gameplay from a couple of the more playable levels. This build demonstrates a game that had so much promise. The gunplay holds up, the visuals looks great for 2001, and there definitely seems to be a lot of heart and soul in this game. The environmental interactivity from Duke Nukem 3D is still here, the game seems to progress much like Half-Life, and you can even regain health (ego in this case) by killing enemies - which demonstrates an example of "push forward combat" not seen again until Doom 2016! It's definitely bittersweet to know that this game could have been amazing.

This video demonstrates how the numerous weapon options that you have can be mixed together in various different ways, which can make a combat scenario play out differently each time.
