The alien scum are at their last leg, and the only way to break it is by destroying the mothership floating over the statue of liberty. Duke is going to have to tear his way through the last remaining alien forces and overload the ship so it can blow up. It won’t be over, though, because he’s going to have to face the alien leader, Zero, and defeat him to save humanity and go on his R&R once again.

Not a very difficult final level. You can just shoot your way through enemies with little to no trouble. The biggest threat are the exploding gas eggs, so make sure you have a gas mask ready to use. This level also has no secrets to collect and the babes are easy to find if you look around a bit. Now, in the boss fight with Zero, there are a very few things you need to deal with. The fight takes place on buildings where there are gaps you can jump across of, so when you’re focusing on Zero as you are unloading on him, be careful not to fall down and die. As for Zero, he has an array of weapons that are fast and damaging. As long as you’re moving, they can be avoided. He also loves to fly around the map just to make himself a little hard to hit when you’re using hard-hitting projectile weapons. When he lands, watch out, because it will stagger you. Just make sure you’re not near the edge of the building when you are stunned, or better yet, don’t let him land on top of you. As soon as you bring Zero’s health to zero, it’s all over. You’re completely done with the game.

The playthrough is finally done and over with, and with that being said, I’m going to evaluate. Duke Nukem: Zero Hour is one of my top Nintendo 64 games to play while also being one of the best Duke Nukem games to exist. It also proves to me that an FPS franchise can go well with a spin off title that makes a transition to TPS while doing the same boomer shooter type of game design. My only problems with this game is that it have some segments of platforming that’s going to be a huge pain to get used to due to how awful the control schemes are set up when you’re playing this with a Nintendo 64 controller. Would I recommend this game? Definitely. Just make sure you’re prepared to get used to how this game’s control scheme works and you’ll be fine.
