DUNGEONS OF ETERNITY VR REVIEW META QUEST 2
I received early access to Dungeons of Eternity a few weeks ago and have been playing it everyday since. There are a lot of dungeon crawlers in Vr and before trying it I thought it was going to be like all the others, however upon playing it you can tell a lot of hard work has been put into this game. There is a large variation of enemies, the mechanics and physics feel very solid and the progression system encourages exploration.
I did notice a bug (or maybe a bad feature?) where your wrist turns to jello for a few seconds if an enemy body part gets caught on your axe. That can be super annoying, especially when dealing with a horde of enemies.
The coin collecting / coin retrieval animation could get old quick as well. I think absorbing them automatically, similar to how the nuts and bolts are absorbed in Ratchet and Clank would be a better option.
Usually I don't notice sound design in games but whoever is in charge of it at Othergate did a great job. Some background songs sounded straight out of Game of Thrones and the enemy sound effects are super creepy and help with the immersion as a whole. I am pretty sure the same sound effect was used for the spider's feet tapping as the bats wings flapping but everything else is great so that small detail (which I might be wrong about) is easy to look past.
