“DUNKIRK” - Christopher Nolan / Filming Locations & Behind the Scenes photo exhibition. (DUNKERQUE)
Quentin Tarantino himself ranked Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk “second best film of the past decade.”
“Dunkirk” is an absolute masterpiece that got showered with awards and accolades, including 3 Oscars.
What amazes me in such movies is the incredible hard work put into transforming entire streets and neighborhoods to make them look vintage and make us travel back in time.
I start this video with an exhibition of Behind the Scenes photographies taken in 2016 by french photographer Vincent Villemaire, while Christopher Nolan was filming in France. The exhibition is being held at the Operation Dynamo Museum in Dunkirk.
In the second part I take you through the streets and beaches of Dunkirk for a comparison between what you saw in the movie, and what it looks like in real life.
This was a very humbling video to shoot, because you just can’t forget that the tragic, yet heroic events depicted in the film, also took place in those same exact locations.
