Dwarf Fortress Tutorial/Review - World Setup & Intro - Episode 0 (Part 2/2)
Alright! We're finally playing the game, worth taking things slowly at the start, too much empty space may lead to a cave-in. Cave-ins are usually a massive bugbear for Dorf Fort players, but I've never had one (apart from ones I've triggered on purpose), so as long as things are kept reasonably sensible then it's gunna be fine.
Your entranceway corridor should be 3 spaces wide, cos you'll need to lay a trade post in your entranceway. I'd keep ALL corridors 3 wide to allow efficient travel routes. You can widen 'em to 3 later if that's something you wanna do, but remember to leve the space free for corridor widening. We'll continue our look at the new GUI, get some more basics down, and even take a look at my own tiny Fort.
